First, let me thank Gabe Ross for the work he has put into developing a proposed statement of principles. I have a few suggested corrections to that document, entitled, "New America."
The fifth paragraph begins with the misspelled word Firth. Of course, it should be Fifth.
There is no period at the end of the 10th paragraph. It should have one at the end of its last sentence.
The 11th paragraph has and /or with a space between the and and the stroke that I don't think should be there. It should be written and/or.
Also in the 11th paragraph in the 4th sentence the word to is repeated twice as to to. It should only be written once as to.
I feel that the document should more clearly state what we are against: capitalism-the private ownership and control of the economy, and communism-a dictatorial form of socialism, and clearly state what we are for-democratic socialism-the social ownership and democratic control of the economy under a political democracy.
We should probably say something about how we intent to bring democratic socialism about. We should say that in intend to run candidates for office under the banner of the Social Democratic Party as well under the banner of the Democratic Party.
Respectfully submitted by Donald F. Busky

We reason together on concerns of national security, environmental preservation, social and economic justice from our unique anti-totalitarian, pro-democratic left wing perspective.
American democratic socialists, shut out of national governance, had the luxury of irresponsible ideas. Here, we exchange as activists who want a role in national policy and are willing to earn it.

Don,
As his somewhat useless typist, I have to take full responsibility for the typos. As far as the other suggestions go, might I suggest that you leave a comment on his post with specific suggestions for rewordings you would like to see implemented?
